ABOUT THE PROJECT – IN PROGRESS
What do you do when your back garden is a native jungle, rock outcrops and a height change of over 3mtrs. Its easy, you engage the OUTHOUSE design team to not just work with the landscape, but embrace it.
The project brief was a direct connection with the native bush landscape, a garage and creative studio combination as well as a space to work from home. The wish list also included the fun stuff, a tree house for the kids and a reason to explore and get outside.
We started the journey with the addition of a curved deck and bi fold doors that connected the lounge with the landscape. This simple but key addition brings the outside in, providing a wrap around view of the incredible landscape.
The journey continues to the immediate lower garden, providing easy access to the family seating area, space for basketball and garage/studio. Metal platforms and steps float across the rock outcrops and connect you to the bush garden studio pod.
By embracing the locations existing trees and level changes we can take advantage of the site, rather than being confronted by it.
The resulting garden is a unique space for all and a tree house that our inner child will love.
“The end result is amazing, I am forever getting comments on the evolving garden. The garden was not only an extension of my home but also of my personality.”
