This modern, urban oasis was once an old, unused swimming pool. The owners were seeking a low maintenance garden which would act as a backdrop for a selection of contemporary sculptures. We began by removing the pool and using the excavated space to our advantage. The new layout allows for hosting large gatherings, while still offering an intimate, urban oasis feel. It also allows us to create two distinct spaces. The first, being an immediate connection to the main kitchen, extending to a sheltered dining space. The second, is more intimate and private whilst still allowing uninterrupted views from the house to the main garden sculpture. Through simply converting an unused pool, the owners now have a series of unique garden spaces which compliment both their home and lifestyle.
OUTHOUSE design are honoured to have this unique garden win a number of awards by the Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers for the project design, as well as being awarded by the LNA Masters Landscape Association for the construction by Urban Garden Enrichment.
“Really happy & it is growing like crazy in this humidity.”
